We assembled in FAB3.26 to hold our inaugural meeting with four present and two joining over Discord, with Kapish joining halfway through as our temporary Events Coordinator.

After adjourning for lunch, we did the Anidle to make sure our meeting ran long enough (it was Seven Deadly Sins, we got it in ten). Kapish proposed Colourdle, but the move was vetoed. The Exec Choice order for this term and the first half of next term was determined.
We discussed potential events, beginning by filling in ConFusion and the end of term meal social and karaoke. Events discussed include:
- Casino Night - we came up with games (poker, blackjack, roulette) and prizes (DVDs we no longer need from the library, Discord roles, pulls in a gacha) and considered what equipment and fake currency might be necessary. We decided that members could receive additional funds. We pulled on a Genshin Wish Simulator and got Neuvillette from pity.
- Ice skating - ice skating was pitched as a day out in Coventry. After a little research, we decided to meet on campus and go skating in the afternoon. Health and safety concerns were raised and addressed.
- All Nighter - after struggling to find a good night and room for it, we decided to leave it for next term.
- Anime Tournament Arc - Anthony pitched an idea where anime of all sorts are pitted against one another as a low-key event for a Wednesday, more focused on socialising. It evolved from placing anime on a tier list to a tournament bracket. We named it AniSoc Episode 149 and 450* Filler - Tournament Arc after filler episodes of Naruto Shippuden released on the same date as the event.
- Games Night - we decided that a stock of society owned games was necessary to future proof for when games owners graduate. We researched a few games, mostly the card games BAKA! And Flip 7.
We booked rooms for all events it was relevant for. It was decided to leave Saturday week 6 and Wednesday week 8 free for the sake of our first week and ConFusion respectively.
After that, we covered other items on the agenda:
- A new election for Events Coordinator was put in Wednesday Week 8, then moved to before the Main Series Showing on Tuesday Week 8.
- ConFusion planning was left for the previous exec to continue work on.
- Advertising was raised by Anthony, who wants more eyes on society activities. We agreed to post graphics and reels more frequently and earlier across Instagram and TikTok to raise more awareness for our events. He wanted to keep using the Discord Events feature. The idea of putting announcements on the website was raised.
- AMQ Fridays were pitched.
- A Discord Manga Club was pitched, reading a new manga monthly. Members would be able to vote from a shortlist presented by exec. We hope to use manga we have copies of in the library.
- Possible membership perks were discussed, especially through events, with the tentative idea of implementing a benefit for members on each Saturday event.
- The idea of more Discord events in order to raise engagement outside the gacha channels was put forward, such as viewings of seasonal anime to go along with AMQ and the Manga Club.
- With regards to merch, Harry has been in contact with the provider. We’re waiting to hear back.
- We assigned additional roles. Milo took on Equal Opportunities, Henry tentatively accepted Health and Safety.
- We bought BAKA!.
With that, we ended the meeting so that we could play Codenames. We decided to have a shorter meeting when a new Events Coordinator is elected so we can bring them up to speed.
