Before Fresher’s Week, we met in WT0.04, with five present in person and one (later two) online. While waiting for arrivals, we played Anidle, Krillion, and tore our hair out over Contexto (it was ‘backlash’).

First, we did our main series pitches and vote. We had:

The winners, to be put to an AniSoc vote at large, were Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story, Fate/Apocrypha, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Link Click. Then we took a Tesco/lunch break.

We moved on to event planning:

Many room bookings were done already, such as karaoke and weekly showings.
We went into this with the idea of reducing Wednesday events.

Firstly, we filled in the timetable with pre-planned collaborations (Vocaloid, Content Creation, and Philosophy) and staple events, such as a meal social (at Shin Ramen, as usual), all nighter, and member’s choice.

Less standard events were discussed. In particular, returns to a casino night and OP/ED tier list, with improvements pitched for smoother running. Seasonal sampling, Pointless and AniSoc dubbing were new events that we chose to include.

The Week 1 event proved the toughest stumbling block. Finding a room was difficult, but in the end we found a place for a seasonal watching event. A manga social was later included as a calm Wednesday event which can also be social.
For Pointless, we decided to gather data from other AniSocs online and at our Society Fair stall.

Finding a room for an AniSoc dubbing proved especially difficult, as we wanted a place in which we could be loud. Once we shifted the week, the Drama Studio became the best option.

We organised our Tuesday events. Our Welfare by-election will be in Week 8, giving people time to settle in and get to know one another before thrusting them into democracy. For exec choice order, deciding Week 1 took the longest as nobody wanted to volunteer. Eventually, Jake was cajoled and the rest went painlessly.

More discussion of Fresher’s Week; a reminder to finish up quizzes and be ready for the stall. We had three posters ready for the poster hunt, but want eight, so have some work to do.

Henry will keep the AniSoc whiteboard, for convenience’s sake.

Evolve training has been completed by the necessary exec. Hooray!

For advertising, it would be nice for the timetable to look nicer than the spreadsheet screenshot we have been using. We need a Meet the Exec powerpoint for events and a standardised version for Instagram. A leaflet to hand out at the Society Fair will be created too.

And with that done, and hunger in our bellies, the meeting was adjourned.
